Certified Nurse Midwives provide healthcare throughout ALL life stages, not just during pregnancy and birth.
Available services include:
I work collaboratively with several OB/GYNs, and should any conditions require more specific attention, a consult or referral can be easily made.
Receiving early and regular prenatal care is important. Initial visits can be scheduled as soon as you have a positive pregnancy test. Initial visits include a comprehensive health history review, complete physical exam with PAP and prenatal lab work.
I follow the same schedule that most physicians follow during the prenatal period. After your initial visit, subsequent visits will take place every four weeks until 32 weeks, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks and weekly after 36 weeks until birth. At each visit the following will be completed/assessed:
My goal is to establish a personal relationship with you and your significant other. In order to facilitate this relationship, I encourage family member participation during prenatal visits and the birth.
Being born is important. I believe birth is a normal process and every person has the right to choose where and how they give birth. I am here to help your transition into new parenthood. At this time, I am exclusively providing homebirth services for women desiring and committed to unmedicated childbirth.
Throughout the birth process you will receive labor support as needed. Maternal and fetal assessments will be conducted, you will have freedom to move, eat and drink as you desire. It’s your space! Skin to skin bonding with your infant immediately after birth and breastfeeding support without interruption is encouraged. Myself and my nurse will be there for evaluation and observation of the mom and baby during the postpartum period for several hours.
Postpartum visits are scheduled between 24-48 hours after the birth, and again in your home 7-10 days after birth. We will then have in office 2 week and 6 week visits. During this period I will be available for any questions or concerns you may have. I will provide care for your newborn for the first week after birth. It is imperative that you arrange a primary care provider for your baby as soon as possible.
IV Hydration delivers essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the GI Tract, allowing 100% absorption. IV Hydration is not a cure, but it has many beneficial properties that can provide an extra boost to immunity, alleviate exhaustion, provide beautiful skin results, or just a refresher from dehydration. A brief physical exam, nurse evaluation, and vital signs are performed. A 30 minute drip is administered via an IV catheter. Relax in our spa-like chairs and enjoy!
